Covid-19 update (12 May 2020)

Dear all.

I hope this email finds you all well.

Thank you for your cooperation so far.

I expect that you will have all had the email from the bmfa at this point regarding the flying status.

You will also have heard the PMs statement regarding the recent update on the Covid 19 virus.

The PM clearly states that you can now travel to do sport, but ONLY on a one to one basis.

The bmfa’s stance was that we could fly so long as we social distance and we sterilize all our equipment { To shorten it a little}. However this totally contradicts the governments policy and should we start back as a club, we would be flying unlawfully.

It is therefore my sad duty to inform you that flying as a club will not be resumed for the foreseeable future.

There is talk that premier league football may be resumed at the beginning of June which is only three weeks away and we would hope that we can resume at that time at least, with restrictions in place.

This has not been an easy decision and I hope that the members will understand why we have had to make it and will cooperate fully.

Once again, Thank you for your support.

Stay safe.

Peter.
