Dark Peak Model Aircraft Club

About the club

Dark Peak Model Aircraft Club (DPMAC) is based in Glossop, Derbyshire and was formed in 1984 to provide a focal point for model flying in the area. Our oldest members have been flying on our club sites for over 30 years, and flying on our sites is known to have taken place well before then.

The club runs a number of events and competitions throughout the year, and rounds the year out with our Christmas Party – at which the raffle prizes can only be described as unusual!

Some of the events we have previously organised are:

  • Full-size gliding evening
  • Efficiency competition (with a prize of free membership for the year)
  • Table-top sales
  • Model demonstrations
  • Inter-club competitions
  • Club trips to model shows
  • Flight simulator demonstrations at Glossop Carnival

See our Events page

We have one current flying site with a new site in the process of negotiation.

  • Our new Birch Vale site in the High Peak.
  • Longdendale Community College playing fields, Hollingworth

See our Where we fly page

By prior arrangement we are happy to give free model flying lessons on our club equipment for you to see if model flying is for you.
