Dark Peak MAC held the annual Ian Warhusrt Memorial Fly-In and spot-landing competition on the 28th September 2025.
The event was well-attended, with 11 active flyers braving the Autumn weather with Wives, Girlfriends, Mums and Grans all contributed to making this a very successful event.
The spot landing competition took place over 3 rounds, with an aggregated scoring system being used to give everyone a fair chance of success. Some got very close to the target, others – alas – didn’t, but the event, and subsequent fly-in all completed successfully with not a single bent model to be seen.
After consultations between the two independent judges, a winner was agreed on.
John Bottomley (Treasurer) presented the winners trophy to Harry Twist, congratulated by Mrs Chris Warhurst.
The remainder of the day was spent as a bring-and-share picnic, fly-in, and social event, culminating with a member’s toast to Ian Warhurst and is contribution to the club.

A big “Thank You” was extended by all members to our Chairman Peter Lees, and the volunteers, who together, made this a very successful event.
